Exquisite and rare antique Art Nouveau Charles Field Haviland / Gerard, Duffraisseux & Morel plate set made in Limoges, France. This set is decorated with orange/red poppy flowers hanging from gold leaves which are also outlined with gold enamel on a cream center background. The rims are cobalt blue with sponged gold accents and gold scalloped edges. Underglaze white ware GDM mark 2 on all pieces green with CFH/GDM with France underneath, ca. The salad plates also have the overglaze decorating GDM mark 3 red CH Field Haviland Limoges printed inside a double circle, ca. Included: 1 platter, 1 cake plate, 12 dessert/salad plates. Approximate measurements: Serving platter 16-7/8″ long, 11″ wide. Handled cake plate 9-7/8 wide from handle to handle. Salad/dessert plates 8 diameter. Condition: This set is in very good condition to almost excellent condition. Only flaw is that one salad plate has a chip on the edge (picture #12). Absolutely no other chips, cracks or crazing. No utensil marks, no gold wear. Gold on the handles of the platter has some very faint scratches from storage but all the gold is intact on the handles and on all the plates in general. Gold on the leaves of the flowers shows a nice patina from age. Overall the set looks like it was very well taken care of.
