This pitcher and bowl set is in the AUBREY pattern by Doulton, created in memory of famed illustrator, Aubrey Beardsley. It is in the Art Nouveau style with its curvilinear designs. There are others of this pattern, but very rarely is it found with the vivid polychrome colors of red, orange, with gold and copper luster accents. The pattern shows registration marks on both the pitcher and bowl for 1902 and 1903. The bowl measures 16 inches in diameter and 5 3/4 inches high. The pitcher measures 13 1/2 inches high, 11 1/4 inches base to top of handle, and 7 1/2 inches across the bottom of the pitcher. The only flaws are some gold rubbed away on the pitcher spout and two very small places on the bowl that have grit from the kiln. This set is heavy; 12 lbs.
