Presented is an antique, 5 piece sterling silver tea and coffee set made by the Baltimore Sterling Silver Company during the late 1800s or very early 1900s. The Baltimore Sterling Silver Co was the predecessor to Stieff. Each piece in this set is completely hand chased with detailed, repousse flowers and leaves over a stippled background. The underside of each piece has an old, original monogram of the initials MBE, but this is hardly noticeable as it is only visible when you turn the pieces upside down. This set includes: 1 Coffeepot: 9 inches from handle to spout and 8 1/2 inches tall. 1 Teapot: 10 1/4 inches from handle to spout and 5 1/4 inches tall. 1 Creamer: 6 5/8 inches from handle to spout and 4 inches tall. 1 Sugar Bowl: 8 1/4 inches from handle to handle and 4 7/8 inches tall. 1 Waste Bowl: 4 3/4 inches in diameter and 2 5/8 inches tall. The underside of each piece is marked for Baltimore Sterling Silver Co and sterling silver 925 purity. This set is in excellent overall condition, especially for its age and the designs are crisp.
