Antique Set of Scottish Art Nouveau Silver Plate Salt Dishes with Silver Spoons – set of 4. My Grandmother loved every little detail of a table setting & often we were asked as children to help with filling individual salt dishes for the table. Each set was always housed in its very special & very old leather box that often had quilted satin linings – like a little bed for each one. Amazingly, she had about 30 different sets – each one slightly different in style and size. For our ERTE dinner table, we have chosen a set from Scotland of the Art Nouveau period. They were made by W. Groock & Son Silversmith in Edinburgh. Each salt dish is round & 2.25 inches in diameter with lovely etched/hammered floral design all around each dish. They are amazing in their beautiful & simple detail. Even the spoons have a lovely etched design on each spoon handle. The set is hallmarked & is housed in blue silk satin and velvet – in an old leather box. This set would certainly make a great addition to your table, or to give as a very special & unique gift.
