This pattern was introduced in 1906 by Rogers Brothers, which became one of their premiere Art Nouveau patterns, a style in the 1890s-1910s that emphasized elements of nature. The details of this pattern are highly articulated on both front and back with oak leaves, branches, and acorns. Rogers Brothers Silver dates back to the early 19th century. In 1847, the company became a household name when it became the first American firm to perfect and patent a process for electroplating silver. The Meriden Britannia Company bought Rogers Brothers Silver in 1862. Meriden, in turn, became the International Silver Company, a name it has carried since 1898.
