This is a most amazing demitasse set, rarely seen today. It has everything a rare piece of Coalport needs to have to be very special – tons of gilding , turquoise enamel jeweling and most especially, the hand painted cartouches, of pastoral scenes. The dealer, a Coalport expert, said that its almost certain that the artist was Percy Simpson. The condition is absolutely pristine in every way. The gilding is like new, as well as the beautiful enameling and jeweling. It has never come out of my display cabinet or been touched. The painted cartouches are all unique from one another – though have similar colors. The turquoise jeweling is gorgeous, and note how it is graduated from small to large on the saucer. I have never seen a similar piece in all my years of collecting fine porcelains. Now, the time has come for me to downsize and sadly, sell my collection. Dimensions are: cup – 2 high and 2 diameter.
