IRIS SET Floral Art Nouveau Victorian French Sterling Silver Salt Nut Dish Spoon
Did you know that Mouse’s House started out in sales of silver and chatelaine items? I still have a fondness for them and I always have a few pieces that are a throw back to those days. Ornate pair of two. 950 (better than sterling) silver French antique salts with spoons. These are a fun addition to a home bar or tea time to hold condiments, nuts, mints, etc. I use French and American solid silver every day and only polish it a few times a year or less. The salts have glass crystal inserts and the repousse silver holders have lovely Art Nouveau designs of Iris flowers, leaves, vines and flourishes. Gold washed on the inside so they have a wonderful glow. Please contact me if interested in more than one pair. These are antique pieces that I acquired in France from the late 1800s / turn of the century. All pieces are marked with the French 1st title Minerve head hallmark for 950 (better purity / more silver than American Sterling) Silver. The spoons are also marked with maker’s marks. Each Dish measures about 2 3/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches and almost 1 3/4 inches tall. Spoon are about 3 inches long. All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. One dish has a linear impression on one side. Both have a few areas of stubborn tarnish but I like the nice antique patina and shine. Both pieces have surface wear and scratches from use and polish over the years. Still very usable items. Please see photos closely as this is not a mint condition set due to age of over 100 years.
