Offering a rare antique Art Nouveau Louis XV style gilt bronze door knob set. This rare two door, doorway set consists of escutcheons and door handles. Made of gilt bronze, this hardware set which appears complete is the epidemie of French Art Nouveau Louis XV styling. Graceful undulating and asymmetrical line decoration very much in keeping with nature. This ensemble must have graced the home of an important French chateau or New York apartment. Measuring: Escutcheons 11 1/2″ Tall, 2 1/2″ Wide, Handles 4 5/8 Across. Of a heavy weight, emblematic of a quality set. The condition is excellent. Only varying amounts of lost gilding to some pieces compared to others. Overall very fine and the patina is wonderful.
