Antique tea set by Wilcox Silver Plate Co, Meriden CT, organized in 1865 by Jedediah and Horace Wilcox. The firm was one of the original companies to become part of International Silver Co. Set contains 4 matching pieces of Wilcox art nouveau design – Tea/Coffee Pot with hinged lid, Cream, Sugar with lid, double-handled vessel – each marked on the base with “Wilcox” “quadruple plate” and T 53 and is not monogrammed. Two additional pieces (slop bowl and tray) are a different design and not marked – please see photos. The pieces have a few scratches but overall are shiny with dark patina – they do not appear to have been cleaned in many many years and have not been cleaned while in my possession for the last 10 years. Exact age is unknown, but estimated as late 1800s. This item is in the category “Antiques\Silver\Silverplate\Tea/Coffee Pots & Sets”. The seller is “rockjock3200″ and is located in this country: US.
