Pair of Hawkes Crystal Decanters. This is a beautiful set of antique, crystal decanters, circa late 19th century. It is my expert opinion that these were produced by Hawkes Crystal, even though they are lacking an acid etch. Many of Hawkes’ earliest pieces were not marked. This is a variation of the Majestic pattern. Each decanter has floral cuts and olive branch details. There are star shaped cuts encompassed by the wreaths. Each decanter is slightly different from the other. The pattern appears larger on one decanter than the other. One decanter has the olive branch cuts carried through to the base, while the base of the other is blank. The lips and stoppers are both etched with a corresponding number to match the correct stoppers with the correct decanter; these numbers are 6 & 7. The decanters have polished pontils on the bases. Height w/ stopper: 14 inches. Height w/o stopper: 10 1/2 inches. Width at widest point: 4 1/2 inches. The decanters are in great condition. There are no chips or cracks. There are some scratches on each base and on the inside of the necks where the stoppers have been taken in and out over the years as well as cleaning. There was liquor kept inside of these decanters at some point and it has left clouding in each. The clouding on one is much less prominent than the other (in the main photo, the one on the left is the decanter with the most clouding). 30 day return window from the day the package is received.
