These 6 porcelain dessert plates were produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges in the 1890s. They measure 8 1/2 inches in diameter. They are marked “Feu de Four” for the 4 step process of production. The design is a transfer that is fired on before the glaze. It softens and becomes wispy as a result. The process was innovative and very costly. These lovely art nouveau style plates are trimmed with gold on the scalloped rims. CONDITION: Excellent, no signs of use or wear.
