It is my pleasure to offer you this set of 2 jugendstil vases produced by Royal Delft, The Porceleyne Fles in Delft, The Netherlands. De Porceleyne Fles was founded in 1653 however it got famous when Joost Thooft took over this small factory at Delft in 1876. He produced traditional blue on white Delft ware and tile tableaus but with a new technique. She died very young of cholera in 1874. He developed a passion for collecting old delftware and a deep interest in the technique of manufacturing it. After he bought “his factory” he showed an insatiable hunger for knowledge about “his” product and followed free courses at the (later) Technical University in Delft where Adolf Le Comte was his teacher. Le Comte had a great influence in the plans to bring new life into the old and glorious tradition of the factory. It is shown in Rick Erickson’s book “Royal Delft” and classified as rarity 1 which means that the author knows of no more than three examples, so quite rare. This set is in PERFECT condition. No cracks, chips, flakes or any other flaws. A real treasure for any TOP QUALITY ROYAL DELFT Collection. The previous owner told me that one of the vases has a small edge-restauration but I couln’d find where. Track Page Views With. Auctiva’s FREE Counter.
