Magnificent fish serving implement set was made in France C. 1900, the late 19. Century Art Nouveau (Late Victorian Era), is also known as the Bell Epoque (beautiful era). Both serving knife and fork are decorated on both sides with piercing and engravings in flowing “whip lash” leaf-like designs. Both servers are all solid silver – handles and blades in one piece. Both are marked with the French silver hallmark Minerva 1. 950/1000 or 95% pure silver content higher than the standard. Century, active at 79 rue Quincampoix, Paris. The servers are placed in their original fitted storage / presentation box. Lined with off-white velvet and satin. The outer side is greenish-gray with gildings around the top. The two locks work. Two brass turn locks on the front. The servers are in excellent condition, with only minor signs of use, but kept in that box they were well taken care of for over 100 years. Box is in very good condition. Lengths: 12″ & just under 9 3/4″ (30.5m & 24.5cm). Total silver weight: 246 grams.
