Up for your consideration is a fabulous Royal Austria porcelain Art Nouveau punch bowl set/centerpiece…. The hallmark (see last photo)… Printed in green with the word “Royal” inside the wreath, the word “Austria” below the wreath, and the initials “O&EG” above the wreath was used by Oscar and Edgar Gutherz of Altrolau, Bohemia (now Stara Role, Czech Republic) from 1889 to 1918. This punch bowl really reflects the Art Nouveau influence of the period. The gold lines enclosing the Art Nouveau sections…. Actually 2 design patterns repeated 3 times each around the bowl…. Adds an oriental element to the bowl. The large one piece heavy porcelain bowl is in virtually mint condition while the six cups are in very good condition (no chips) with one of them having an older repair….. The bowl’s dimensions are 13 1/2 ” in width and 10 1/2 ” in height. Each cup is 4″ wide and 3 1/4″ tall. I’ve got to believe this set was one of the highest quality porcelain items produced at the factory during these “hallmark” years. Certainly, it’s masterfully crafted and truly creates an incredible representation of Art Nouveau at its finest. Please view our other items.
