Exquisite antique 3-piece tea service made by the Tressemann & Vogt (T & V) factory of Limoges, France. The 3 pieces are a tea pot with lid; 2-handled sugar bowl with lid; and creamer. All pieces are octagonal-shaped and ivory with gilt trim, and have geometric shaped handles. My camera makes everything more yellow than it really is; the ivory color is more like what you see in the closeup photos rather than in the first few photos of the entire set. The decorative band has the Art Nouveau look and is gilt with hand painted stylized flowers and leaves in green and white with black highlights. The artist’s signature is on the bottom of all 3 pieces, Helen Muenter. The teapot measures 3 1/2″ tall with the lid in place, and 8 1/2″ from handle to spout. The sugar bowl is 2 1/2″ tall with the lid in place, and 5 3/4″ from handle to handle. The creamer is 2 1/2″ tall and 5 1/2″ from handle to spout. So all the shapes are short and stout. All pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks; the only slight flaws are light gold loss around the areas where friction took place, ie. The top rims of the sugar and pot, and the outer edges of the lids. You won’t notice unless you are examining the pieces very closely. There is a little “pimple” in the porcelain on the lid of the sugar bowl, which is a manufacturing irregularity (photo #17). This set was likely used for display only, and has a unique and gorgeous look that would make a treasured addition to an antique Limoges collection!
