For your consideration is an incredible antique passage mortise door lock set manufactured by P. Corbin in New Britain Conn. In the 1880’s. The lock set is strikingly ornate. The mortise lock is # 227. The knob & back plate are shown in the 1881 Corbin hardware trade catalog. The strike, bolt, face plate, knob & back plate are made of brass. The lock body is made of cast iron. The mortise lock is in excellent functional condition – it has been refurbished – all parts disassembled, cleaned and properly reassembled. The lock is reversible – it will work with a right hand or left hand swing door. Dimensions of the face plate: 6 x 1-1/16. Distance between the face and center-of-hub (set back): 2-3/4, Distance between. Center-of-hub and center of key post. Comes with a functioning skeleton key.
