Art Nouveau Frank Whiting Gladstone Sterling Silver Salad Fork Spoon Serving Set
Presented is a fantastic sterling silver salad serving set by Frank Whiting. This set is done in the lovely Gladstone pattern, which began production in 1891. This pattern was originally produced in 1890 by Amston, a company which was subsequently absorbed by Frank Whiting Silver. The handles of the pieces have a rich design of scrolled leaves in high relief, against a finely stippled background. These are well made, sturdy silver pieces, with a nice feeling of weight in the hand. Use this set together for serving salad, or separately for more generalized serving purposes. This set is in great overall condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The underside of each piece is stamped’sterling’ and with the maker’s mark for Frank Whiting. The fork is about 9 1/8 inches long. The spoon is also about 9 1/8 inches long. The total weight for the set is 225.7 grams or 7.9 regular ounces. Powered by SixBit’s eCommerce Solution.
