Fully Hallmarked with: a Moon Sickle & Crown, 800 for solid 800 sterling silver (this is not plate) and the initials WTB, referring to the very FAMOUS maker Wilhelm T. Wilhelm Binder Silberwarenfabrik W. Binder was founded in July 1868 in Schwäbisch Gmünd – one of the centres of the German silver and gold industry – as silverware dealers. In 1898 the firm built a new factory to house its workforce of 300 people. This made Wilhelm Binder one of the largest of the German silversmiths in Schwäbisch Gmünd, which had over 120 gold and silverware manufacturers at the turn of the 20th century.
