This is an absolutely beautiful antique hand painted six-piece dresser set in Art Nouveau design. This comes with the tray which is marked MZ Austria; a pin tray marked Limoges France; a hair receiver and powder jar both marked Classic Bavaria and 2 candle holders with no markings. It was not unusual for an artist to use blanks from different manufacturers to create the design they wanted. The tray is 14 inches long and 9 inches wide. The candle holders stand about 6.5 inches. This design is an Art Nouveau with the straight lines and blue flowers. The background is a cream and tan color. Everything is outlined in black to make the design pop. There is gold in the design as well as on the feet. Based on the backstamps I would date this from 1884 to 1909 and I would guess it would be in the later period of that timeframe. Overall condition is very good especially given the age. There is no damage, repairs or even paint loss. With a piece this age there could be some manufacturing issues like a dust bump or iron speck but I don’t see too many of those. And with age you can see some flea bites which I do see one on a candle holder. This is a stunning piece and something to cherish.
