Made of ebonised wood with detailed plaster relief, depicting reclining nudes this fragile but extremely beautiful set is very romantic and beautiful with its quote from Keats’ Ode To A Grecian Urn of “Beauty Is Truth – Truth Beauty” typical of the Nouveau period. A one off piece for the serious Vanity collector. The trio does have wear to it due to its fragile plaster relief and being nearly 125 years old so do please read the below Condition Report, look at all pictures, zoom in etc as these for part of the listing. Height Approx 28 cm. Width Approx 15 cm. In over all good condition. It has slight nibbles tot he plaster relief. The glass is bevel edged and has a light scratch (not visible in pic). Width Approx – 18.5 cm. Height Approx – 8.5 cm. Depth Approx – 9 cm. Exterior – Has scratches and abrasions to the ebonised wood on all sides. There is some wear to relief work most noticeably the break in outer rim of plaster. Interior – lined in blue velvet. Height – Approx 25 cm. Width Approx – 7.5 cm. Depth with bristles Approx- 4.5 cm. There is extensive damage to plaster relief, including plaster that has been placed back on. It’s very fragile. Paint loss and graining to surface. Bristles – age related discolouration.
