This listing is for a set consisting of a pickle frame and cover, tongs and glass insert. The insert is marked Monarch Silver Plate along with Triple Plate. The glass insert has both straw marks and air bubbles in the glass which is an indication of its age. The hand painted design is free of discoloration and there are no chips or cracks to the glass. The pickle caster is in good condition as shown in the picture. The silver plate is shiny and bright with light ware. The cover doesn’t fit snugly as shown in picture number 7 so I’m not sure if it is original. Please scroll down to view all the pictures. The pickle caster has the marks of Monarch Silver Plate and Triple Plate indicating that it was manufactured prior to 1913 when quadruple plate and triple plate were discontinued. The caster features a hand painted Mary Gregory design on thumbprint cranberry glass. The painted design is lovely with no discoloration or peeling of the paint. Size: The pickle caster stands 11.25 inches tall and measures 4.5 inches across the base. The tongs measures just over 6.75 inches long. Condition: The silver plate is in good condition, shiny with no monograms, dents or visible repairs as shown in the pictures. The cover doesn’t fit as snugly as it should so I cant be sure it is original. The tongs are also in good condition. The Mary Gregory insert is old but in wonderful condition. There are straw marks and air bubbles which are both an indication of age. The color is bright and there are no chips or cracks. The hand painted design in lovely and free of scratches or peeling.
