This listing is for a gorgeous vintage STERLING SILVER & MARCASITE, stylized Swan Duet necklace and earrings set. The swans are stylized so they resemble swans but not exactly. The swans face one another on the pendant to form a heart shape, with their beaks touching to echo the heart shape. This is an old sterling set, that’s definitely older vintage, possibly antique. It’s very Art Nouveau, with a Victorian flair, and my guess is that it predates 1935. My guess is that it dates between 1920 -35. The earrings are screwback, and the necklace has a spring ring clasp, but it’s the much older style, without the little tab sticking out, that you see is old vintage jewelry. It still works well, though. The necklace clasp, pendant and the earrings are all stamped sterling. It’s a little worn on the clasp and hard to see but visible under magnification. The necklace is just shy of 16 inches in length. All the marcasites appear to be present on both the pendant and the earrings. This is a lovely set and classic and elegant in style. It’s in wonderful vintage condition, with signs of wear, as to be expected in a set this old, but it’s also still very wearable, with clasps and screw backs in good functioning order and not missing any stones. It’s a wonderful and unique set to add to ones vintage/antique jewelry collection.
